Cancellation and service deletion
Review the service, data and billing consequences before ending it.
Common symptoms
Cancel service, delete server, stop billing, powered off, cancellation pending, refund request, retained resources
What to check
- Open the relevant server, order or service and check its current state. Save needed guest data and confirm that no unresolved operation needs review before proceeding.
- Order cancellation is available only for unpaid pending orders. For a provisioned service, check termination in server details. Check the actions currently available and their data and billing explanations. For VM termination, read its preview and confirm the exact target and consequences. Powering off does not remove the service.
- Complete only the intended action and any confirmation or identity verification requested on screen, then check the resulting service status and ledger. For disputed charges or an unresolved cancellation, contact support with the original reference.
Common questions
Is stopping a server the same as cancelling it?
No. Stopping changes its power state while its service and retained resources remain. Check the applicable billing rules and the intended cancellation or deletion preview.
Does cancellation guarantee a refund?
No automatic refund should be assumed. Review the terms and the action's displayed charges, then contact support about a specific payment or charge if you need clarification.
